Starwort Root(Yin chai hu)
Yinchaihu is the root of Stellaria dichotoma L.var.lanceolata Bge,pertaining to Caryophyllaceae.It is collected in the season between spring and summer when it begins to sprout or in later fall after it withers.After the residual stem,fibrous root,earth and sands are removed,it is sun dried and then cut into slices.The raw form is used.
Medicinal Properties:Sweet and slightly cold.
Meridian Tropism:Liver and stomach meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies: Relieve deficiency-fever;and clear fever of infantile malnutrition.
Usage and Dosage:3-9g.
