2.2.4.1 Looking at the Chest and Hypochondria
In healthy people, the thorax is flatly cylindrical and symmetrical on both sides, and the left-right diameter is larger than the anteroposterior diameter , while in infants and the aged people, the left-right diameter is slightly larger than or wqual to the anteroposterior diameter, Supraclavicular fossa and infraclavicular fossa are also symetrial in both sides. By looking at the chest and ribs, physicians can know the pathologicak changes of the heart and lung. the condition of pectoral qi and disordrs of theliver, gallbladderand breasts.
