Blackened Swallowwort Root(Bai wei)
Baiwei is the dried root and rhizome of Cynanchum atratum Bge.,and Cynanchum versicolor Bge.,pertaining to Asclepiadaceae.It is collected in summer and fall.After washed,it is dried and then cut into slices.The raw form is used.
Medicinal Properties:Bitter,salty and cold.
Meridian Tropism:Stomach,liver and kidney meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies: Clear heat ,cool blood;promote urination,relieve stranguria;relieve toxicity and cure sores.
Usage and Dosage:4.5-9g.Also it is used in pill or powder.
