Ginger Moxibustion

The ginger moxibustion refers to the application of moxibustion on a piece of fresh ginger as an insulating medium.

Operation Methods:
Cut the fresh old ginger to about 0.2-0.5cm thickness. The size of ginger slice depends on the size of acupuncture point and moxa cone. Then use needle to prick some holes on the ginger slice. Apply the ginger slice to the acupuncture point and put ignited moxa cone above the ginger slice, then it starts working. Normally each moxibustion needs 5-10 pcs moxa cones. When the acupuncture point skin appears red, please stop the operation. After operation please apply some safflower oil to the moxibustion points to avoid skin burn and strengthen moxibustion function.

Main Disease Applicable:
Vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, spermatorrhea,sexual impotence,dysmenorrhea, peripheral facial palsy

Cautions:
1. The ginger must be fresh old ones, please don't use young or dried ginger
2. The thickness of ginger slice depends on the moxibustion points and syndrome. For example the slice should be thick if applied to the face, but should be thinner for acute pains.
3. Avoid skin burn during operationg.
