It is the dried ripe seed of the Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn.,family Nymphaeaceae.It is collected in autumn and then dried in the sunshine.The raw form is utilized for medicine.
Medicinal Properties:sweet,astringent and neutral.
Meridian Tropism:spleen , kidney and heart meridian.
Medicinal Efficacies: Invigorate the spleen and relieve diarrhea;benefit the kidney to preserve the essence;nourish the heart and tranquilize the mind.
Usage and Dosage: 10~15g is used for oral use.The core must be taken out from the seed and broken into pieces.
