Tree Peony Root(Mu dan pi)
Mudanpi is the dried root bark of Paeonia suffruticosa Andr.,pertaining to Ranunculaceae.The root is collected in fall.After the minor root,earth and sands are removed,the bark is peeled from the root,and then sun dried.The raw form is used or after stir-baked with wine.
Medicinal Properties:Bitter,pungent and slightly cold.
Meridian Tropism:Heart,liver and kidney meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies: Clear heat,cool blood;active blood and resolve stasis.
Usage and Dosage:6-12g.To activate blood and resolve stasis,it is stir-baked with wine.
