Hogfennel Root(Qian hu)
It is the root of Peucedanum praeruptorum Dunn,family Umbelliferae.The roots are dug and collected in winter and spring when the stem and leaves are withered or before the flower stalks put forth.After the fibrous roots are removed,they are washed clean,the dried in the sunshine and cut into segments.The raw or stir-baked with honey are used.
Medicinal Properties:pungent,bitter and slightly cold.
Meridian Tropism:lung meridian.
Medicinal Efficacies:direct qi downward and resolve phlegm;disperse wind-heat.
Usage and Dosage:3~9g.
