The source is from the seed of Pharbitis nil(L.)Choisy or Pharbitis purpurea(L.)Voigt,family Convolvulaceae.The medicinal material is collected in the end of autumn when the fruit are ripe and the fruit shell does not split open,and dried in the sun.The raw or stir-baked forms are utilized as medicine.
Medicinal Properties:Bitter,cold and toxic.
Meridian Tropism:Lung,kidney and large intestine meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies: Purge water and expel fluid;resolve the stagnation and kill worms.
Usage and Dosage:3-6g.It is taken orally.If it is added to a pill or powder form,1.5~3g.The fried form can moderate the medicinal's properties.
