Virgate Wormwood Herb(Yin chen)

It is the dried part above the ground of Artemisia scoparia Waldst.et Kit.or Artemisia capillaris Thunb.family Chrysanthemum.It is collected in the spring,when the tender seedling is at the approximate height of 6~10cm,as well.it can be collected in the autumn when the flower bud is ripe.It is called Mian-Yinchen,when collected in the spring-time.It is called Yinchenhao,when collected in the autumn.After the impurities and old stalk are removed,it is dried in the sunshine,and the raw form is used as a medicine.

Medicinal Properties:Bitter,pungent and slightly cold.

Meridian Tropism:Spleen,stomach,liver and gallbladder meridians.

Medicinal Efficacies:Clear away heat;eliminate dampness;drain the gallbladder to relieve jaundice.

Usage and Dosage:6~15g.It is utilized orally.The appropriate amount is used externally,by means of a decoction,by steaming and washing.
