Gegen is the dried root of Pueraria lobata(Willd.)Ohwi,pertaining to Leguminosae,often called Yege.It is collected in fall and winter.It is cut into thick slices or little dices when it is fresh,and then dried.The raw form is used or after roasted.
Medicinal Properties:Sweet, Pungent and cool.
Meridian Tropism:Spleen stomach meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies: Relieve muscles,subdue fever;generate fluid,promote eruption;raise yang and stop diarrhea.
Usage and Dosage: 9-15g. To relieve muscle,subdue fever,promote eruption and generate fluid,the raw form is used.To raise yang and stop diarrhea,it is roasted for use.
