Chinese Name: 相须
English Name: Mutual Reinforcement

When medicinals which are similar in certain properties and efficacies are combined together to reinforce specific clinical effects, it is referred to as mutual reinforcement. For example, when combining Shigao and Zhimu, the total efficacy to clear heat and purge fire is reinforced. Another example is when Dahuang and Mangxia are combined together they can reinforce the efficacy of purging heat.
