Chinese Name: Long Dan Xie Gan Tang
English Name: Decoction of Gentian Purging Liver
Ingredients:Long Dan Cao (Radix Gentiance, parched with wine) 6g Huang Qin (Radix Scutellariae, parched) 9g Ze Xie (Rhizoma Alismatis) 6g Mu Tong (Caulis Akebiae) 6g Dang Gui (Radix Rehamanniae,parched with wine) 9g Chai Hu (Radix Bupleuri) 6g Sheng Gan Cao (Radix Glycyrrhizae) 6g Che Qian Zi (Semen Plantaginis) 9g (dossage not marked in the original book).
Administration:Make the ingredients into honey pills for oral administration, 6-9g each time, or make the ingredients into water pills for oral administration, 3-6 each time, twice a day , or dedoct the ingredientd for oral administration.
Actions:Purges the sthenic fire of the liver and gallbladder, removes dampness and heats from the lower energizer.
Indications:(1) Sthenic fire flaming up syndrome of the liver and gallbladder marked by hypochondriac pain, headache, conjunctival congestion, bitter taste, deafness,swelling of hypochonfriac pain, headache, conjunctival congestion, bitter taste, deafness, swelling of ear, red tongue with yellew tongue coation, taut rapid and forceful pulse.
