Puncturevine Caltrop Fruit(Ji li)
Jili is the dried ripened seed of Tribulus terrestris L.,pertaining to Zygophyllaceae.It is collected in fall when it ripens.The above ground part is collected.After sun dried,the plant is threshed to collect fruits which are ground to remove the thorn and impurities.It is used after stir-baked to yellow or stir-baked with salty solution.
Medicinal Properties:Pungent,bitter and slightly warm.slightly toxic.
Meridian Tropism:liver meridian.
Medicinal Efficacies: Pacifying liver ,relieve depression;active blood and dispel wind;improve vision,and stop itching.
Usage and Dosage: 6-9g.Also it is used in pill and powder,as well as for external administration.
