It is the internal shell of the mollusc Sepiella maindroni de Rocheburne,or Sepia esculenta Hoyle,family Cuttlefish.The osteoid internal shell is taken out and cleaned,and it is dried in the open air.The raw form is utilized for medicine.
Medicinal Properties:salty,astringent and warm.
Meridian Tropism:spleen and kidney meridian.
Medicinal Efficacies: Astringe to stop bleeding;astringe essence,stop emission and leucorrhea;control acid regurgitation;promote sore healing.
Usage and Dosage: 6-12g is used for oral use.Dosage can decrease for powder.The appropriate amount is used for external use.
