Desertliving Cistanche(Rou cong rong)
This medicinal is the fleshy stalk of Cistanche deserticola Y.C.Ma or Cistanche tubulosa(Schrenk)Wight(Fam.Orobanchaceae).It is excavated in spring when the bud is just coming out.After removal of anthotaxy,it is sliced and used in its unprocessed or processed with wine form.
Medicinal Properties:sweet,salty and warm.
Meridian Tropism:kidney and large intestine meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies:Tonify kidney yang;replenish essence and blood;moisten bowel to relieve constipation.
Usage and Dosage: 10~15.
