Huhuanglian is the dried rhizome of Picrorhiza scrophulariiflora Pennell,pertaining to Scrophulariaceae.It is collected in fall.After the fibrous root,earth and sands are removed,it is sun dried.It is cut into thin slices or pound into fragments for use.

Medicinal Properties:Bitter and cold.

Meridian Tropism:Liver ,stomach and large intestine meridians.

Medicinal Efficacies: Relieve deficiency-fever;remove fever due to infantile malnutrition;and clear damp-heat.

Usage and Dosage:1.5-9g.
