Fineleaf Schizonepeta Herb(Jing Jie)
Jingjie is the dried above ground part of Schizonepeta tenuifolia Briq., pertaining to Labiatae. After the impurities are removed, it is sun dried, and then cut into segments. The raw form is used or after stir-baked to charcoal.
Medicinal Properties: Pungent and slightly warm
Meridian Tropism: Lung and liver meridians
Medicinal Efficacies: Release superficies; dispel wind; promote eruption, cure sore; stop bleeding.
Usage and Dosage: 4.5-9g. Avoid long time decoting. To stop bleeding, it should be stir-baked to charcoal. Spike of Jingjie is good at dispelling wind.
