Zedoary Rhizome (E zhu)

It is the dried rhizome of Curcuma phaeocaulis Val.,Curcuma.Kwangsiensis S.G.Lee et C.F.Liang or Curcuma wenyujin Y.H.Chen et C.Ling,family Zingiberaceae.It is harvested and collected during winter,when the plant has withered.It is washed clean,steamed or boiled thoroughly,then it is dried,and cut into pieces ,after the fibrous roots and impurities have been removed.The raw or the prepared with vinegar form is utilized as a medicine.

Medicinal Properties:Pungent,bitter and warm.

Meridian Tropism:liver and spleen meridians.

Medicinal Efficacies:Dissipate blood-stasis and move qi;eliminate stagnation and alleviate pain.

Usage and Dosage: 6~9g.The prepared with vinegar form can reinforce the action of alleviate pain.
