It is theroot of Sangguisorba officinalis L.or Sanguisorba officinalis L.var longifolia(Bert)Yu et Li,family rosaceae.After it is dug in spring before it shoots up or in autumn after it withers away,fibrous root removed,it is washed clean and dried in the sun.The raw or the carbonized can be utilized.
Medicinal Properties:Bitter,astringent and slightly cold.
Meridian Tropism:Liver,stomach and large intestine meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies:Cool blood and stop bleeding;eliminate toxic material and treat pyogenic infection.
Usage and Dosage:9~15g.Appropriate amount for external application.
