Xinyi is the dried bud of Magnolia biondii Pamp.,Magnolia denudata Desr.or Magnolia sprengeri Pamp.,pertaining to Magnoliaceae.It is collected at the end of winter and early spring when the flower begins to blossom.After the twig and stem are removed,it is dried in the shade.
Medicinal Properties: Pungent and warm.
Meridian Tropism: Lung and stomach meridians
Medicinal Efficacies: Dispel cold,release superficies;open nise.
Usage and Dosage: 3-9g. For it has floss which is stimulant to throat,it is wrap-decocted with gauze in the decoction.
