Qianghuo is the dried rhizome and root of Notopterygium incisum Ting ex H.T.chang or Notopterygium forbesill Boiss.,pertaining to Apiiaceae.It is collected in spring and fall.After the fibrous root,earth and sand are removed,it is sun dried,and then cut into slices.The raw form is used.
Medicinal Properties: Pungent,bitter and warm.
Meridian Tropism: Bladder and kidney meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies: Dispel cold,release superficies;dispel wind-damp and stop pain.
Usage and Dosage: 3-9g.
