Common Clotsfoot (Kuan dong hua)
It is the dried bud of Tussilago farfara L.,family Compositae.It is dug and collected before it spring up from the soil in September or before the ground freezes.They are dried in shade with peduncle and mud removed.The raw or stir-baked with honey are used.
Medicinal Properties:Pungent,slightly bitter and warm.
Meridian Tropism:lung meridian.
Medicinal Efficacies:Moisten lung,resolve phlegm and relieve cough.
Usage and Dosage:5~9g.The raw are used to treat cough due to external contraction.The stir-baked with honey are used for cough due to internal damage.
