Asiatic Cornelian Cherry Fruit(Shan zhu yu)

It is the ripe fruit of the Cornus officinalis Sieb.et Zucc.,family Cornaceae.The medicinal material is collected in the end of autumn or early winter,it is baked over a soft fire or treated with boiling water for a moment,the core is removed promptly,and then it is dried in the sunshine or baked for medicinal use.
Medicinal Properties: sour,astringent and slightly warm.
Meridian Tropism:liver and kidney meridian.
Medicinal Efficacies: Tonify liver and kidney;astringe essence and strengthen collapse.
Usage and Dosage: 3-10g is used for oral use.Large dosage may be up to 20~30g for emergency to strengthen collapse.
