Pyrite(Zi ran tong)
It is the resin from the bark of Commiphora myrrha Engl.or other species in the same genus,family Burseraceae.The resin oozing out of crevices in the tree is white,and then turns reddish brown and hard when exposed to the air.After being collected ,it is broken apart and stir-baked to burnt black,and the it is ready to use as a medicine.
Medicinal Properties:Pungent and moderate.
Meridian Tropism:liver meridian.
Medicinal Efficacies:Dispel blood stasis and relieve pain;re-joint the bone to heal the wound.
Usage and Dosage: 3~9g.Decoct first.Usually it is processed into a pill or powder and then quenched with vinegar,with 0.3g per administration.
