It is the carbonization of the leafstalks of Trachycarpus fortunei(Hook.f.)H.Wendl.,family Arecaceae.It is collected during September and October.The extending parts of the leafstalk and the sheath cut off,the fibrous palm hair removed,dried in the sun,cut into pieces,it is calcined into charcoal for use.

Medicinal Properties:Bitter,astringent and neutral.

Meridian Tropism:Liver,lung and big intestine meridians.

Medicinal Efficacies:Stop bleeding by astringing.

Usage and Dosage: 3~9g.1~1.5g for ground powder.
