It is the dried mature spore of the perennial climbing fern,Lygodium japonicum(Thunb.)Sw.,family Lygodiaceae.The vines and leaves can be collected and dried in the autumn when the spore has not fallen off.The vines and leaves are removed,and it is dried in the sunshine.The raw form is used as a medicine.

Medicinal Properties:Sweet,salty and cold.

Meridian Tropism:Bladder and small intestine meridians.

Medicinal Efficacies:Promote diuresis to relieve stranguria.

Usage and Dosage: 6~15g.It is consumed orally.Before being placed into a decoction,it is wrapped with gauze.
