Vietnames Sophora Root(Shan dou gen)
Shandougen is the dried root and rhizome of sophora tonkinensis Gagnep.,pertaining to Leguminosae,also known as Guangdougen.It is collected in early spring when it begins to sprout or later fall after in withers.After the impurities are removed,it is washed,dried and cut into slices.The raw form is used.
Medicinal Properties:Bitter and cold.Toxic.
Meridian Tropism:Lung and stomach meridians.
Medicinal Efficacies: Clear heat,relieve toxicity;relieve sore throat and cure swollen.
Usage and Dosage:3-6g.Also it is used as gargle or externally pasted onto the affected area.
