chantui is the slough from the nymph of Cryptotympana pustulata Fabricius,pertaining to Cicadidae.It is collected in summer and spring.After earth,sand and other impurities are removed,it is sun dried.The raw form is used.
Medicinal Properties: Sweet and cold.
Meridian Tropism: Lung and liver meridians
Medicinal Efficacies: Disperse wind-heat;soothe throat,restore voice;promote eruption, stop itching;improve vision,remove nebula;extinguish wind,and stop spasms.
Usage and Dosage: 3-6g. Also it is used in pills or powder.It is decocted for eye washing.
