Peppermint (Bo he)

Bohe is the dried above ground part of Mentha haplocalyx Briq.,pertaining to Labiatae.It is collected in a fine day during summer and fall when the plant is plant is prosperous or when flowers blossom for the third round.It is sun dried or dried in the shade,and then cut into segments.The raw form is used.

Medicinal Properties: Pungent and cool.

Meridian Tropism: Lung and liver meridians

Medicinal Efficacies: Disperse wind-heat;clear head and eyes;soothe throat,promote eruption;soothe liver and regulate qi.

Usage and Dosage: 3-6g. It is decocted later in decoction.Leaf of Bohe is good at inducing sweating to release superficies,and stem of Bohe is good at promoting qi flow and soothing the middle.
