Sandushu Paifang(memorial archway)

Sandushui Paifang(memorial archway), which is located at Sandushui Villiage, Xinning County, is a typical Paifang in South China. Built in year 1823, it is mainly in pavilion style. With 10 metres in height and 7 metres in width, the Sandushui Paifang has three different layers from top to bottom and three archways from left to right. The middle archways is 3 metres in height, and another two archways is 2.7 metres.

There are more than 40 embossments on the Paifang. Most are people, birds and beasts handed down from Chinese traditional lengend. Likes ten dragons viing for pearl, eight immortals crossing sea, etc. Sandushui Paifang has high value of studying China ancient architecture.
